Missile "Defense" Test Fails

Missile "Defense" Test Fails.

Hey listen, just because its costing us $10,000,000,000 per year doesn't mean it will actually work. Didn't you read the fine print? Thank god this deployment is also rekindling the nuclear arms race: see my previous entry "How I have missed the cold war..."

I also notice in that article the caption under the illustration says "Animated guide: How the system works" ... shouldnt that read "Animated guide: How the system DOESN'T work" ?

I feel safer already.

Clear Channel -- Liberal Radio?

Clear Channel broadcasting Jerry Springer and Air America Radio?

TV talk-show host Jerry Springer will debut a three-hour weekday radio talk show here in January.

The former Cincinnati mayor and TV anchor will launch a 9 a.m.-noon call-in show on WSAI-AM (1530) when the Clear Channel station switches from oldies music to liberal talk. He wants to syndicate the show nationally from Cincinnati, he said.

Gotta admit I didn't see that coming. It will be interesting to see what happens with Springer, if he makes his predicted senate run, I will be cracking up pretty hard if he succeeds. The sadest part is that he would be so much better for America than who's in charge now.

Kentucky Creationist Museum

I just noticed that link to the Kentucky Creationist Museum has been floating around the blogosphere recently, I had to add my bit of vitriol. When I was surfing their site a few weeks back and saw this picture, the first thing that struck me was how nice it was of them to screw the woman in the wheelchair, making her sit way in back because they didn't make their theater accessible.

Red vs Blue State: Teen Pregnancies

When Red States get their social problems under control, and things such as teen pregnancy down to nationwide lows, then they can try and foist their solutions on the rest of the country.

You mean teaching abstinence only doesn't magically cure teen pregnancy?!?

Wikinews Launches

The people who brought you the amazing Wikipedia today launched Wikinews. The first news site I know of where the users collaboratively write and edit the news content. I hear that the content will be a little sparse as it launches, but it will be exciting to see how things fare as things fall in stride.

For those who don't know what a Wiki is, essentially it's a sort of collaborative content site that lets anyone edit any and all of the content. Its a pretty amazing type of collaboration which has given us over a million articles in the Wikipedia.

The Liberal Family

BOPnews has an interesting article about what separates liberal and conservative families. The Liberal Family

Where are the economic, political, and cultural anchors? It's pretty clear where the right sees the family, a man and woman in the suburbs who belong to a church and rely on their church community to provide social and cultural ballast.

...

It is comfortable and unchallenging, pleasing, and offers community advancement. Much like Hamas, the right-wing religious movement provides social services that the state does not, so its political demands should be no surprise.

Bush Protects Your Religious Freedoms...

...as long as you are a Christian.

Court blocks church from using hallucinogenic tea.

The U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver found that the church probably has a religious-freedom right to use the tea. The administration plans to appeal but wanted the church barred from using the tea in the meantime.

I love a consistent political philosophy...

K5 Is Odd

Kuro5hin.org is so odd. Ponder that this amazingly in depth look at Internet Pharmacies could be written by a guy called Stinky Bottoms.
